Easton Coach Company Awarded Contract to Operate Northumberland County, PA Transit Service
For Immediate Release – EASTON, Pennsylvania – September 1, 2011 – Today, Easton Coach Company began operating paratransit services in Northumberland County, PA under a contract with York County Transportation Authority dba rabbittransit.
In late June, Northumberland County announced an agreement with rabbittransit to manage its public transportation service. According to published reports, the move to place transportation with rabbittransit was made at the suggestion of officials from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare and the Commonwealth’s Department of Transportation after the county decided to discontinue certain portions of the transportation program.
Easton Coach will operate about 30 vehicles and employ nearly 40 people in Northumberland County, providing service to elderly, persons with disabilities, and disadvantaged persons.
